A teacher must always be observant of how their students learn, and what works best for them -what better way to do this than actually facing your students and engaging with them, and helping them to engage with each other?
Learning happens through experience, inquiry, time, interest, self-correction, as well as external criticism and taking my knowledge and applying it, as well as adding to it.
Even though it easy to define what learning is the truth about learning in general is -we all learn in different ways that fit our basic needs. There is no right or wrong way to learn but there are right and wrong ways to teach those who are trying to learn. A teacher must always remain aware that people learn differently and that in order to accommodate each students individual needs he/she will need to figure out (somehow) what works for which student(s).
As a teacher I plan on and will strive to figure out the best way to nurture my students individual learning needs so that every student will be able to learn the content well and thoroughly enough that they will be able to use it once the class is over with.
