learning all that I can

People -including teachers, students etc.-are like computers in that whatever information they are given they can store and keep for as long as they wish and use however they need to.
I have recently taken it upon myself to learn everything that I can about english and education but also about other topics that I might not learn about otherwise. I want to gain skills here at college that I will be able to use to help me out in the real world -once I finally get there! So far I have learned how to sew in my costume/apparel design class, how to type at my job and in general, how to act/dance/sing better in my broadway to berea class, how to write in all sorts of styles thanks to my english and GSTR courses. I have become certified in CPR, first aid, and food handling through my last job at the CDL, I learned the basics of health in Wellness, I finished my studies in math in College Algebra and MAT012. I have learned how to make brooms at my very first job, and how to speak some spanish thanks to my first college spanish class. I have learned the basics of teaching, and setting up classroom subjects...the list is long already and I haven't even completed my second year of college yet! Amazing. Even so...I am still going to take every educational opportunity that I can so I can get the most out of my college education and become a well educated teacher! ;)

What I am striving to become...

I want to measure up not only to my own expectations as a teacher in training, but I want to also meet all requirements for becoming a well educated and well prepared teacher.
I am not only striving to become a well educated woman. I am striving to become a well educated, well rounded individual who will use her abilities to teach children about a subject that she loves and wants to share. I want to share my love of the english language with others. What I want to do more than anything though is to improve the literacy and writing abilities of all the children that I will call my students. Illiteracy is a common problem in American schools, the issue is that it's not always as addressed as what it needs to be...I intend to fight illiteracy by being a teacher of english. Children are the future, so they must be well prepared for what lies ahead of them. If we continue to ignore signs of illiteracy among our children, then we are allowing them to fail in communication with the world around them. Our children need literature and writing in their lives and my goal is to become a teacher who helps children stay literate and well written.

my goal

I have one main goal and I plan on scoring however I can to reach that goal :)

My goal is to become a well educated and well prepared teacher of both the english and spanish languages...Seems like I have my work cut out for me huh? I think that this is a great goal to have and that is also a very achievable goal as well.

Even though this goal IS achievable I still have a couple of barriers that I need to cross before I can become a fluent and well-rounded Spanish speaking gal. :) I have always had a hard time phrasing or putting the words together in the grammatically correct sequence even though I know what they mean. I also have a major issue with the fact that most speakers of the Spanish language can speak at a rapid rate -and I cannot. Just because I cannot do these things at the moment does not mean that I will not be able to do so in the future. With a little more practice and dedication to the language itself I will get to the level of proficiency that I would like/need to be to be considered for a job as an English teacher with fluency in a foreign language. If I keep pushing I know that I can get there!
