"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." ~Eleanor Roosevelt
I think that it is important to understand that even though we may be different from others in some way that that does not make us inferior or even superior in regards to someone else. Teachers should remember that even though they are in a position of some power that the power they possess is not to benefit the self, but should be used to help guide their students.
Our goal as future educators is to know that our power, though limited in some ways is the foundational force behind our students success in the classroom. This does not mean that we are directly and wholly responsible for their success as individual learners but it does mean that we ARE responsible for the educational encouragement of each of our students. We are to encourage their learning every day!
Also, no one can say that we as teachers (or teachers in training) are inferior due to our lack of experience, because everyone's level of experience is different, and holds a different meaning for each of us. Every teacher is an individual with his or her own experiences that he or she brings with them to add to the learning of their students. No one, not students or teachers etc. are inferior...all of us are important in maintaining a classroom community.
