my favorite quote from marley

I love this quote because...nobody is perfect, we all have our flaws...but that is what makes life -LIFE! If we were perfect -life would not be near as interesting. This doesn't mean to deliberately make mistakes it just means that one should be comfortable with yourself, accept your faults/failures...and learn from them. ~Becca I think that every teacher should apply this quote or at least keep this quote in mind when they are arguing a point with a student or thinking in a critical or demeaning way towards a student that they have to put up with. There is always that one kid in a class that just loves to cause trouble and the more negative attention he or she gets the more they feed off of it and they keep on acting horrible. A teacher should be prepared for students like these when they go into teach a class each day.
No matter what the students throw at you (even literally so) a teacher must remain firm and stay focused on what the point of that days lesson is. When a teacher can do this effectively he or she will eliminate the students need for attention or will be able to counter it by applying their behavior into a positive learning device either for that particular student or others.
I'm not saying that the student be called out or scolded, but that the teacher make note of the students behavior in a way that connects it to the lesson that is not demeaning or harsh or accusing. When this is achieved ...you have opened a new door to learning and a better alternate to dealing with rowdy or attention seeking students. No body is perfect -including students, but everyone has their flaws we just have to learn from them.
