teaching for learning

The information that we gain and use is sparked by the brains dendrite cells, which store all of our internal information, thoughts etc.
Teaching for learning = teaching with experience to gain new experience... which means that I can plan classroom experiences that help further the learning of all students. When we learn something new we usually take what we knew about the subject before-hand and apply the new information to that and then make a connection between the two sets of information. When we do this we add to our knowledge and store it away to use for a later time. Likewise students do the same thing -they are no different from other people. As a teacher I will expect to teach my students in ways that will help add to their current knowledge. By adding to mys students current knowledge I believe that I too will learn more about the students and also more about learning itself. As I learn from my students I gain information about things that I knew some or nothing about. Learning and teaching go hand-in-hand. To learn one must be taught, and to teach one must have learned something.
